Subject: Griffs Hockey

Since it is the doldrums of the offseason, wanted to start a thread on our Ice Griffs:

Should the Griffs say in the Atlantic Conference where they are competitive or transfer to the ECAC where they can get more eyes on the program?

How can the program take another step forward and help grow the Canisius name?

I don't think it is so easy for CC to simply "transfer" to the ECAC, any more than in would be to just "transfer" to the Big East.

I'll totally admit that I don't know much about the transfer process. There has to be an opening, they have to get accepted and pay a fee, but moving up in the world of college hockey can only be good. College programs are getting better and it can mean Griffs making it to the AHL and NHL - that's huge for this school's name and engaging the fan base.

There was an opening to pursue a merger of some CCHA schools and the more ambitious AH schools, but it didn't come to fruition. All you can do as a school is win, market, pack your arena and make yourself as attractive as possible for a higher-level conference.

Griffs should step it up. Quincy is in another hockey league. This is the best way for the school to build their brand equity.
