I thought the newcomers were very encouraging with their play today, Majesty Brandon could be the best new player in the MAAC, he is really an all around player with a great pull-up jumper, I thought he might just be a player who shoots a lot but he got his points in the flow of the game, likely our leading scorer based on what we saw today. Incredibly apparently he never played high school ball! I agree on Fritz, very impressive for a young big man how he takes care of the ball and passes , he is all of 6-10 and moves very well, looks to be a surprise player right away. Akrum and Harried also impressive, Akrum probably a little better right now but I thought Harried looked like a very special player who once he gets experience will be a tough to take out. Hitchon and White didn't do anything special today and Routins and Henderson are still out so it was a day for the newcomers to shine together with Malik who played his normal game. An encouraging intro to what might be possible this year!

All newcomers look like they will play and Hazdic showed well during his minutes... St. Louis is obviously the last man off the bench. His CC career just hasn't panned out... Brown should be part of the front line rotation.... Let's hope the coaching staff can develop this current crop of bigs. You can't teach size, but you can teach basketball.

I'm hoping at times Fritz is on the court with White & Hitchon. That is a big, athletic front line that could really exploit some mismatches when facing the many 3 guard lineups we'll see in the MAAC.

Ahemed, Harried and Brandon, are quick athletic guards. Brandon shot lights out and I love the fact the kid is willing to stop & pop from 15 - 18 feet. That is very refreshing in this era of the 3 pointer being the "be all end all" to so many offenses.

One message to all the guards/wing players, when one of your big guys is posting up on the block and showing his hand wanting the ball, pass the ball to that hand! If you don't see a hand, you look elsewhere. But it sure would be nice if the offense game plans this year put a focus on getting the ball down low some, as opposed to constant perimeter passing and settling for 3's as the shot clock wind downs.

Good suggestion on getting the ball inside. Several times vs McMaster, players were posting up and calling for the ball but no entry pass was made. Since our two best three point shooters are injured Rautins,Henderson ,relying on outside shooting could be a major concern. The play of Hitchon, and White is also a huge concern. Hitchon plays hard and will have good moments, but Jalanni is a question mark mostly because of his lack of energy. I was impressed with the other freshmen. They are athletic, and can run the floor, and hopefully they will get plenty of quality minutes. Malik and Majestywill make this team competitive. Go Griffs!!!

According to last years stats, Hitchon should be shooting 3's more or as much as anyone this year. Go Griffs!!
