Subject: Post Game Interview

Following a poor performance tonight in a loss to an FAU team that was begging Canisius to beat them, RW had a very brief and rather odd post game interview on the radio. I'm not going to get this entirely right but he pretty much blamed it on guys not being able to go because of being "injured".

Said it is "frustrating" and "problematic" in trying to get any type of a rotation going. Said in such a way that he certainly insinuated they should be able to fight through said "injuries" and are soft.

One, if so, this is a problem beyond the inability to rebound, shoot from the perimeter, score in general, make good decisions. But secondly, he is questioning the heart of this group. That's unwelcome news - but should he really be airing this on the radio? Give your standard losing interview of guys needing to learn to win, inexperience, play smarter, share the ball, etc. That was really weird and made a road loss even less inspiring moving forward.

Henderson, Fritz (knee surgery) and Hitchon(knee drained) are all coming back from knee injuries. Playing 3 games in 4 days is a lot to ask from those guys. However, if White, St.Louis & Brown had been able to play more minutes we could have used those guys sparingly. We didn’t shoot well, nor did we handle the ball well. Another winnable game we let get away.

Just a couple of observation after watching all three games at FAU. Have to agree that Hofstra, and FAU were winnable games but when it came down to crunch time in both games, the Griffs couldn't score. Why? Despite Malik great performance, The Griffs were denied open shots. All three teams in the tournament had big ,strong guys playing inside. Our lack of a strong inside player is the problem. Reggie has got to recruit a center, and of course a replacement for Malek, and let's hope he can do it. Hats off to Malek. This guy is giving it all he has got, and keeping the team competitive. Go Griffs!!!

Noted the same thing. Plus, he's the one who is screwing up the rotations, then blames the players. And no where was this more evident last night than with the big men, as noted in detail by another poster.

No way we should have lost this game!

Don't think I have ever heard a coach blame his players for not fighting thru injuries. It was a Wow moment. Disappointing end to a long road trip but we are 4-4 with only 2 home games played and 6 road or neutral court games. I think we have 11 home and 11 road games left.End up a few games over 500 and take a CIT OR CBI bid this year while our young guys grow into being a MAAC power. Will need someone to replace Malik. If 100 yr. team was chosen next year, he'd be on it.Bring on Holy Cross

Griffs can do better and need to play 40 minutes.

Rider is looking pretty good so far. They are the team to beat this year IMO. I totally agree they need to play a full 40 minutes. I think some guys are being over played while others are under utilized. Hope they figure this out soon. Griffs could of easily been 6-2 right now. If the rotation gets figured out and they sticks with it, the Griffs are getting a buy first round! Go Griffs!

Sorry, he should know better. He has been around far too long and is never going to get us to the upper tier of the MAAC. We should beat Holy Cross, UB will beat us like a drum and then we go to Siena & Pitt.

He better figure out this rotation very quickly.

He should have more of a filter when talking to the media.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. You said it better with fewer words.

I really love the way the Linwood Loser and Dave the Dredge jump on the team after every set back. This season has started far better than anyone would have imagined and the team is really looking strong with a bright future. Not everyone wins every game and sometime there are off nights. I have a lot of confidence in our team and coaches and am confident this will be a very rewarding and good season. Go Griffs!! The real fans are with you all the time.

Real fans are also objective and can see that this staff isn’t going to get us to compete at the upper 3rd of the MAAC. We deserve better and consistently under achieve. Sorry but we need a change vs. thinking about investing more with this known entity.

Not supporting the coaching moves, but your not going to win many games hitting 1-16 from 3Pt. range.

Hey, there's more than one true fan on this board. The name-calling and poor attempts at shaming say a lot more about you than anything else. I agree with others that the player rotation sucked in that game. The bad decisions by RW regarding it were obvious. I'm not one of those saying fire the coach, but he needs to figure things out. He has more to work with than he's shown us so far.
