Subject: What lays ahead for Canisius basketball

Assuming there is no miracle finish for Reggie's team I don't see how administration can just let things continue as is if basketball is truly valued as our main identity or something like that. Clearly there is no student support at present, our loyal followers are basically at wits end, the coach has no visible following and news coverage of the team is a thing of the past. I have no idea how Reggie and his staff are viewed in the building by his players, their parents, others involved in the program, students in general, our teaching professionals , etc, if he's loved by all ala Mike McDonald then he probably gets the benefit of another year but if thats not the case then change is necessary. We have to assume that Maher and Hurley will do what is necessary if the writing is on the wall. We only need to look at Niagara and what was their disaster to see what a coach can do to motivate players and change a programs direction almost overnight. If our basketball program is allowed to continue its downward spiral there will be nothing left to save. Lets hope for better times to come!

Well stated Griff72. Something needs to be done to address the situation. We are a hair's breadth from being totally irrelevant.
