Subject: How Does Ensor Still Have a Job and Why AC???

There are maybe 300 people at the first day of the tournament. Ensor has done absolutely nothing to advance MAAC men's basketball and the decision to take the tournament to Atlantic City is one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. As he wanders around looking for people to talk to, does he honestly think this was a good move? This league is stuck in a time warp in so many ways - including Canisius. Can people with clues please get involved?

Before Ensor gets questioned you might want to look at John Hurley and Bill Maher. What has the athletic department done to grow and expand? The administration took the safe choice when hiring Reggie also decided not to spend money to improve WBB and hired Hemer. The student section stinks because the administration won’t allow a “Bonnies” like atmosphere. When kids were attending games they were getting ejected for smelling like alcohol. Last good thing the department did was in 2015 partnering for ESPN 3.

What are you talking about? I'm referring to a league decision. Has nothing to do with Hurley and Maher. The crowds in Buffalo were ten times this pathetic showing. At least now they can use corona to hide the 800 people who would have been at the championship game.

I thought the exact same thing about the Coronavirus being used as an excuse. I blame the Pegula's for not wanting the MAAC championships here, also Griff games at the KBC. On 1 hand they act like money is no object, on the other hand holding the MAAC Tournament, they are not interested and charging the Griffs an exorbitant amount of money to rent the arena. Hopefully there will be a Griff- Daemen doubleheader at the KBC every year.

Yes Ensnore is a slug. But the Tourney didn’t draw in Buffalo and the East coast teams don’t want to come all the way west. Albany is the most boring city in the world and it only draws Sienna fans there. The league is lucky to have their tournament in a destination city in a historic venue on the east coast where the majority of teams fans can easily get to and enjoy. The play in games don’t draw no matter what. This is not the leagues biggest problem. It’s the overall weakness .

The tournament has been held in Buffalo. Albany, Bridgeport, and Springfield. The only place where the tournament draws some fans is in Albany. I think therefore that Albany should be the permanent site even though it gives the Saints a leg up. I for one would rather dump the tournament, and play for the NCAA bid on the home court of the lower seeded teams. At least this would provide games where there would be some fans in attendance. It's romantic, enchantic Atlantic City down on the old New Jersey Shore.

Like the America East Conference does. I watch the AEC championship on TV every year and the venue (usually Vermont, Albany or Stony Brook) is packed and electric.

Yes, it's an advantage to the higher-seeded teams in each game, but guess what, they earned it in the regular season. And the games throughout the tournament are generally sold-out.

Absolutely! At a minimum move everything before the semis or maybe the quarters to on-campus.
