Actually, there are two other SU players better than Washington who are also transferring—-Jalen Carey a PG and Brycen Goodine SF. We should be aggressive in pursuing them.

We are not getting those two. They were both ESPN Top 100 recruits and will get much better offers. Howard is the only shot. Not sure why people are saying how bad he is. Khalil Dukes barely played at USC and he became the conference player of the year. Not saying Howard is that good by any means, but dropping way down to the MAAC can show his true ability..

Got to believe the NCAA will grant Akrum another year of eligibility since he played so litle this year. The only game I recall where he played some quality minutes was at UB, and in that game he didn't show much. He looks athletic so he could be a keeper. RP is no stranger to the KAC, having coached against the Griff while at Boston U. His presence in the MAAC will raise the bar a bit, since you know he will continue to make Iona a winner. I think he will be good for a league that is presently down. Go Griffs!!!

Griffs pulled the upset in the KAC and beat the BU Terriers by 10. They went on to win the ECAC North and we finished the season 11-17.

Washington did get some limited minutes this year after Carey (who is also transferring) had thumb surgery. Washington was recruited as a back-up and that was indeed his role at SU. I would think that Canisius would show some interest but IMO he could not come anywhere near the production of Malik.

BTW, Brycen Goodine, the other SU transfer signed with Providence.
