Dropping football was a bitter moment for a lot of us who wore the blue&gold. The irony is the program had the right coach and an influx of new players we were all excited to see play before it was dropped. Lots of former players have done well, they don't donate and have distanced themselves from the school.

We tried to explain all of this and were given the middle finger by the AD from Alaska. The school didn't burn the bridge they napalmed it.

I'd forgotten about that guy. I understand he was the kind of guy who shouldn't have been hired in the first place. But maybe if the "right guy" had been hired, the outcome may have been the same, although better handled. That clearly cost the College in the long run, perhaps especially right now. All the Powers That Be can do now is suck it up, dig in and get CC back on track to where she should be "if only---". St.Peter (Canisius, that is) pray for us. Maybe one day we'll be with some other Jesuit colleges/universities in basketball and even playing football once again.

Our current AD played football. Tim Dillon made a mistake; he was new a AD and didn't have a grasp of the culture at CC. You're correct, he used a hammer on lots of things to create change. He was also hired to drive change, in retrospect he could have taken a different approach when it came to football. Give it, school more than ever needs your support.

I appreciate the difficulty the school is in and in a small way contribute annually. Though it could be much more. I can get over dropping football. Whathe continues to drive me away is the lack of any contact with the school and out of state alumni. My wife went to SBU and how she stays connected to that place is heat warming. Or should I say how they stay connected to her.

It's not just me, I've met several alums at Bills Backers events who also have no connection with the school. And now that they need us the feeling is forget you.

The Powers That Be need to pay attention to these recent posts.

It was never like this until the last 10 years or so. The alumni office isn’t staffed the way it should be. Bona does a great job as well as Siena. I hope that they wake up, love the school got a great education but they need to step up their game. The high school does a better job of staying connected to their alums. St. Peter pray for us. Go Griffs!

Take a look at the "Another Voice" piece in the "Viewpoints" section of the Buffalo News today, 8/16.
