Does this post bring back lots of great memories. I remember a beautiful Fall Sunday most likely in 46 or 47 when The Cleveland Browns came to the rock Pile, then known as Civic Stadium to play the Buffalo Bills. Both teams then were members of the All American football Conference. The game was played before a packed house of about 35,000. the Browns were really loaded with talent, and led by the great Otto Graham. the Bills were pretty good also with George Ratterman as QB. Colella that afternoon was playing as a defensive back, and did pick off a couple of Ratterman's tosses. With the game under control late in the game, Coach Paul Brown put Colella in on offense, and the Canisius College great did sprint in from about 20 yards out for a TD. Kids could get a seat on a Dowd folding chair behind the goal post on the midget auto racing track for 50 cents.
