MAAC Hoops Schedule Model Revealed

- Indication is that there will be no scrimmages prior to the NCAA start date per draft NCAA regulations (Note: DII & DIII seasons do not begin until January).

- Indication is that there will be a testing requirement of three times a week, which could impact spacing, model proposes two-day minimum between conference games.

- Spacing issues will be reassessed once NCAA testing protocols are finalized.

- Four Non-Conference games in the first two weeks, plus one additional game on the week of Dec. 22.

- It is an institutional decision about going home for Christmas break, subject to state and local guidelines and state travel quarantines.

- Week 11 will be used to make up any conference games that weren't played due to COVID-19.

- Attendance Policy: No fans in attendence through December 23. Working group will continue to review this policy as state regulations are amended.

- This year’s championships are set to return to Jim Whalen Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Mar. 9-13. The proposed season schedule model sees competition in men’s hoops end on Mar. 5 and women’s hoops end the following day on Mar. 6.
