How do we even emulate that program?

Make men's basketball your signature sport. Invest with proper budgeting and part of the schools branding. Bona has done this very well. I'm in favor of supporting fewer sports if we can properly invest in men's basketball. Also make athletics part of your capital campaign. Koessler was built in 1968 for $3 million. It's served us well and is in need of a major facelift.

We need to enter this athletic arms race. St. Peter's who has been a bottom feeder now has a better gym than us.

The facts don't lie, we need to rethink what we're doing with athletics. The time is now.

Did St.Peter's renovate their gym? What did they do, and what is the capacity? I still feel that the KAC is pretty good. Too bad it isn't a little bigger, but then again it's a struggle to fill the 2000 some seats. Buffalo, unfortunately has become a pro sport's town, and college basketball has become a footnote. St. Bona in Olean is highly successful because they are 50 miles away, and the only game in a small city.

This will look great. We could use a gift like this for athletics.

Actually it kind of looks similar to what CC has already accomplished with KAC, but with all the seating on the sides rather than also on the ends. Apparently part of a campus- wide revitalization project. Something CC really needs these days. A new events center for us should be along the lines of what Fairfield is doing, IMO.

Built in 1988 for $10 million. Seats 4,400 and is being updated. The school ran a campaign which raised 45 million. Looks great. Similar design as Fairfield, St. Peter’s, Marist & Iona. Check it out.

Speaking of St.Bonaventure, Canisius grad and SBU President, Dennis Deperro, has even hospitalized since Dec. 29 with CoVid. Please keep him in your prayers.
