Maybe Canisius should hire a “ slime ball’. It might lead to improvement. The school has problems with decision making and it starts at the top with Hurley.

We need to be more serious when it comes to our program. Iona is serious about college hoops as mid-major status allows. Iona is Westchester Look at the coaches they’ve hired - Valvano, Kennedy, Willard, Ruland, Welsh & Cluess. Iona him one year ago Sunday.

Do you think anyone at Iona cares anything about Pitino's past right now? I'd bet not.

The two highest-paid employees of Western New York colleges or universities are coaches. St. Bonaventure University men's basketball coach Mark Schmidt makes $831,984, according to the university's 990 filing, to top the list. He's followed by University at Buffalo men's basketball coach Jim Whitesell, who recently earned a raise to a $600,000 base salary plus incentives. Schmidt makes more than four times the second-highest earner at St. Bonaventure. Canisius would need a different mindset to pull this off.
