A lawyer can also guide you through the task of getting licenses & permits. Since you'll own a separate (from the restaurant) business, they may require you to have liability insurance & for you to indemnify them so they won't be apt to be sued. Entrepreneur Magazine (www.Entrepreneur.com) may have start-up guides available. But they usually only have guides for particular businesses for a short time before they reduce the prices to clear them out. You may be required to have a chauffeur's license to be a professional driver. Sometimes prospective business owners are caught in a (Catch-22) bind. People will only do business with them if they have an existing (successful) business. But it's impossible to have a successful business without clients. If you know somebody, with well-known credibility, who will vouch for you it'll probably make it easier for you to get started. Some people are professional party/event planners. If you can gain their faith/trust, you may be hired as a valet for parties. If you do it, you'll gain experience, credibility & business contacts. From Entrepreneur.com, you may be able to learn things from the perspectives of business owners you can provide valet services for. Other than this, I don't know how to answer your questions. I hope this is enough to get you started. Dennis S. Vogel thrivingbusiness@email.com When you compete against big businesses with big budgets you need powerful marketing strategies and tactics.
