[> Subject: Unfortunately I can't vote based on seeing any of these films because my ears can't take the super-Dolby sound systems that are installed in new theaters; I only go to drive-ins but we haven't had the money for theater movies this year. I will hazard one guess based on what I've read; "Happy Fett' is a slam dunk for animated feature, because it's the single most influential cartoon film this year.

[> Subject: Like Conrad, I have not seen most of the films nominated; although I did see: Little Miss Sunshine ( offbeat & hilarious! ), The Devil Wears... ( the film was okay and MS played her role perfectly ), Monster House ( I thought it was well done but the young 'uns may find it too scary )...and that is it! I watched the Golden Globes and I have a feeling same winners will walk out with the Oscar.

[> [> Subject: I havent seen them all either, but I always kind of guess or just say who I really want to win based on past experience!!! Having seen Little Miss Sunshine, I dont think it should win best film (even though I liked it alot), but I do think that Alan Arkin should get best supporting actor. Did you think so too Miss J?

I haven't seen many of the movies that were up for awards this year except Babel. I am writing this to bump the post up and try and move the spam down!

[> [> Subject: Kimmie, I just saw Babel last night. Now that some of the DVDs are out, I can actually see some of the nominated films. Thus far, I've seen Little Miss Sunshine, The Departed & BABEL...and to be honest, I thought BABEL was a lot better film than The Departed (Leonardo was great by the way). Although, I'm sure Jennifer Hudson was deserving of her Best Supporting Actress Oscar, I thought the lady who played the Nanny in BABEL was great and deserving...I so felt for her...that was a strong performance! I loved BABEL! Great acting, great substance, great, great, great!

After leaving it for a while I realize it's not THAT GREAT, like not a repeater for me, but it was decent film and a lot of people bashed it.
