Hi, I have a 15 year old neice that is deaf and (not officially been diagnosed), shows all the signs of autism too. She has just recently started lashing out with anger. She is very strong and leaves bruises on my mother, who is raising her. We notice that if she gets upset with us, she will pinch or scratch. We are not sure how to handle this in a way that she will understand. She is learning sign language and uses words in broken form. Please help if you can....we are very desperate. The teachers at school are having problems also..and everyone seems to be using bribes to get the proper behavior. I have 2 children that do not have these challenges, and we try not to use bribes with them, so I'm just not sure if that's the proper way to deal with this. Every article that I've read says that each child is different, so we will just have to find what works best. We need some creative help. Thank you so much.
