Riverwind eats only a little of what's left and then goes off to hide the rest. When he comes back, he hears the howl of the two. "I think they're going to be loyal brothers," he tells Hark with a smile. "The weakness of one is the streagth of the other. Their song tells this... They are harmonised..."

As Kiba's howl fades and then stops he looks down at his brother and then jumps off the rock next to him. Maybe...he was right... maybe Tsume is someone I can trust and be with... Kiba smiles as only he can and nods to his brother. In Kiba's mind, he knew it was time for him to start exploring and this he wanted. "I want to be free..." he says in a soft voice. The first words of his puppy life coming out from his mind to words others can hear.
