Subject: Helping Teachers Say No

I am a parent of two preschool daughters and a university faculty member in a teacher education program. I am truly disturbed at how many future teachers feel their hands are tied when it comes to testing and the veteran teachers tell them so -- even though I've heard many, many stories about how passing out the CRCT has caused physical illness, anxiety attacks, children wetting themselves, fear of parent reactions and so on. To know that passing out the test will cause any child to urinate and defecate on themselves or even to cry and still distribute that test is an immoral act.
How can we parents support those teachers who want to show the moral courage to stand up for children do so?
If you know of any parent or community group who would like me to share some of these stories and issues (for free!) I'd be happy to speak to those groups.
