This issue should have been resolved when Gateway was implemented. GCPS cannot affort to bus these kids. Too many unqualified central office staff taking $5000 raises to keep their mouths shut. Face it, Alvin has promoted his people into positions making six figures for performance which would get them fired elsewhere. He is not going to change his policies.
As far as teachers knowing what to teach for the CRCT, my experience at Gwinnett was that central office management Executive directors, etc., would not pass state information along to people who implement policy changes. We were on our own to call the state, and find out what was going on. Inexcusable laziness on the part managment. Every so often someone (ex-employee or current employee) will post saying the situation is changing at GCPS, its not.
Alving is nothing more than a polician, passing the blame onto anyone he can.
