Subject: Here comes the judge; there goes the board

Acting on a recommendation from Office of State Administrative Hearings' Judge Michael Malihi, Governor Perdue removed four members of the Clayton County BOE. Media coverage has focused on the BOE members' actions and subsequent loss of accreditation, but there's something else that's been bothering me.

These were elected officials chosen by Clayton County voters, and they were removed by the Governor in a single action.

Anyone think this is a little extreme - or a lot of power for one person to wield?
