Subject: Hey, Jennifer

The discussion I (mis)remembered as being entirely here is evidently the continuation of what started somewhere on Maureenís board about the QBE funding worksheets.

The prior discussion was, if you take the worksheet from any system or charter school and divide the operating funding by the FTE count, you will find they are all identical. What doesnít come out the same is the salary funding amount. The reason for the difference is that the QBE worksheets include the T&E factor specific to each school/system, which isnít mentioned on these worksheets.

In other words, if you are comparing two schools where one has a 5% T&E factor and the other has a 10% T&E factor, the salary funding amount on the second worksheet will be 5% higher than the first for the same category funding. If you back out the T&E factor, THEN the two amounts will be the same.

The discussion and specific numbers are mentioned in

Now that Jim is gone, I am the only one who moderates (whatís left of) this board, so feel free to post any comments you wish.
