>Well, the trip of a lifetime is over and it was worth the time and money. Antarctica is known as the continent where "time stops to exist" and I believe it. We saw all types of flora and fauna that exists nowhere else but here. Penguins are everywhere and so cute, whales, seals, snow, cold, ice islands(too big to be called icebergs), volcanoes, sheer rock cliffs, ice fields and water so blue it makes the sky look pale. WOW!! Even the sunrises and sunsets are more than spectacular. Put that together with lecturers with huge amounts of education and experience of the area coupled with a passenger list of PHd's and others who add to the interest. It was a 16 day cruise out of Buenos Aires and spent over 3 days in Antarctica. We were not able to land on the continent but did get an up close and personal of the area. Of the 4 stops at ports, Ushuaia, Argentina and Puento Arenas, Chile were excellent. Montevideo, Uruguay was not so great and Buenos Aires was very nice as the "Paris of the South". The worst part was the long flight to and from, but that is the requirement to "see the world". I wish we had the Concorde back with its supersonic speeds!! ...Not sure where and when the next trip will be, but I will include you when time and computer allow. PS...called Dr. Harvey Steinberg today and had a great conversation. He was a teacher at SCTHS who taught physics with grace and knowledge. He now lives in Camillus, NY at Kings Gate apartments and welcomed the call...use your discretion if you would like to call. Until the next time, ciao!!
