Subject: Reunion Weekend

The forty-fifth reunion was cause to celebrate
For the one-hundred or so who chose to partake.

The classmates they came from here and afar
Some for just an evening like a passing star.

The Genesee Grande was the place to gather
Where many conversed while others enjoyed laughter.

Our classmates in western New york didn't fare so well
To an early two-foot snowfall and the trees that fell.

The roadways were closed as traffic came to a standstill
But not for long as one escaped the early winterkill.

Our 'fearless' leader arrived a couple of hours late
Minus a few unmentionables I won't relate.

The weekend went well, Friday night was a blast
We chatted with teachers who were an entity from our past.

Saturday morming a dozen came to the old school of yore
To visit, explore and see our site of learning once more.

After the tour about seven of us rode to the place
Where 'Minerva'is being reconstructed at a meticulous pace.

Back at the Genesee Grande a few on the Steering Committee
Were doing last minute decorations for all to see.

The evening started with food prepared buffet style
Where upon hungry classmates gathered in a single file.

There were four stations to choose what you could eat first
Some had the salad, pasta or meat and some had the dessert.

After the dinner the program began
With a raffle, door prizes and entertainment to jam.

Some partook in the dancing and had a great ball
Others watched, exchanged views or maybe answered a call.

About forty or so attended the Sunday brunch
For that one last chance to see the 'old bunch'.

Some of us joked while others just listened and laughed
As we enjoyed each other's company and the last repast.

Although we may not feel it we are considered old by a few
Since were all past the 'sixty' mark which is all too true.

It was great to see everyone who made it here
Enjoy all your holidays and have a peaceful new year.
