Dave,

I've been a Windows user for the last 18 years. When each new version came out, I was an early adopter. At various points in time I also used SCO UNIX and various versions of Linux.

But, starting with XP, I reached a point where it was "good enough". In fact, the only reason I began using XP was that I changed to a newer computer.

Now that Vista (previously know as Longhorn) is being released, I've seen that it requires a significant upgrade in hardware. So, if you have the hardware and are able to upgrade to Vista for free, go ahead. But, from what I've read so far, there's really no big advantage to jump on the bandwagon now.
