As might be expected, we're having a green winter--with unexpected higher temperatures than average. I think we've had seven days ( nights actually) with freezing temperatures. Daffodils and crocus are already two inches high and knowing that we will have some freezing days before winter slides into Spring, I fear our spring will lack the usual color. Jauary and February are our winter months and once in awhile we do get some snow--but usually suffer blistering ice storms. I'll take snow over ice any day. But not to the level that Syracuse gets--180 inches this year?! ugh!! I saw photos in Valdez Alaska with 520 inches of snow in a winter. No, thanks. The occasional (every five to seven years) dusting of a couple of inches at best is enough for me.
