Subject: Billy Owens Ex-Wife Passes 2/11/07

The mother of our Billy's children has passed.....



Lilly Belle Pride-Owens
February 11, 2007 Lilly Belle Pride-Owens, 59, of Syracuse, NY, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 11, 2007. Lilly also known to her family and friends as "Thelma", was born to the late Mr. Moses Pride and the late Mrs. Mary L. (Pride) Boyd in Belle Glade, FL on March 5, 1947. Lilly moved to Syracuse, NY as a young child and grew up in the church with her mother and stepfather, the late Mr. William H. Boyd. During 1965, Lilly graduated from Central Technical High School in Syracuse, NY. She was a very energetic cheerleader in high school, and a majorette in the I.E.P.O. Elks, Pride of Syracuse. Lilly's continuing education included a Bachelor of Science Degree (1974) and a Masters Studies (MS) from Syracuse University. Lilly's career included employment at Western Electric Company, Niagara Mohawk Company, and teaching in the Syracuse School District. Lilly is survived by her loving children, sons, Duane Owens (Tara) of Syracuse, NY and Billy J. Owens (Karla) of Oviedo, FL and her daughter, Sondra Lowe (Patrick) of Buffalo, NY and her six grandchildren. Lilly is also survived by her four brothers, Johnnie L. Pride (Luella) of Owasso, OK, William Pride (Karen) of New Castle, DE, Eulas G. Boyd, Sr. (Elleni) and Harlow B. Boyd, Sr. (Venita) of Rochester, NY; and her six sisters, Orie Dee Pride of Syracuse, NY, Verline Boyd-Johnson of Basking Ridge, NJ, Geraldine Boyd-Whitehead of Seymour, CT, Marian Boyd-Bridges (Johnnie C.) of Orlando, FL, Elizabeth Boyd-Glasgow of Rochester, NY, and Crystal Boyd of Fort Pierce, FL. Littie is survived by her aunts, Elgertha Rolle of Syracuse, NY and Bessie Robertson of Winter Park, FL. She is also survived by her uncle, Roosevelt Buchanan of Syracuse, NY. Her first cousin, Joann Ditumbule of Syracuse, NY, was also raised with the family. Lilly was predeceased by one infant sibling, Naomi Pride. All services for Lilly will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at Tucker Missionary Baptist Church at 515 Oakwood Avenue, Syracuse, NY. The viewing for family and friends will begin at 9 a.m. and funeral services will convene at 11 a.m.
