Classmate Chris Stevens was married to Steve Gonsa '60 brother of classmate, Bill Gonsa'61

Christine M. Stevens Gonsa
Gonsa August 27, 2006 Christine M. Stevens Gonsa, 63, of LaFayette, died Sunday after a long courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Born in Syracuse, she lived in LaFayette for 20 years. Christine was a graduate of Central Tech High School and LePontos Beauty School. She worked for Hair Crafters before becoming a salon owner-operator of Hair Design by Christine. She was a member of the National Cosmetology Assoc. Predeceased by her parents, Barney and Nina Stevens; two brothers, Bernard A. and Anthony J. Stevens. Survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Stephen J.; two daughters, Stephanie (Steven) Hopper of SC and Nina C. (Kenneth) Tyminski of Syracuse; brother, Ronald R. Stevens of Sandy Creek; four aunts, Mary Lochner, Edith Mallory, Pauline Wasnick and Jean Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 8:45 a.m. at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Valley Dr. Burial in Onondaga Valley Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Whelan Bros. Funeral Home, 3700 W. Genesee St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to LaFayette Fire Dept. & Ambulance, Rt. 11, LaFayette, NY 13084. Whelan Bros.
