A Syracuse man driving a car involved in a fatal collision Tuesday in Clay has been ticketed by deputies in the crash, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office announced today.

Christopher Lane, 28, of 1259 W. Genesee St., admitted to deputies that he was using a cell phone at the time of the crash, deputies said.

Lane drifted into the other lane on Morgan Road Tuesday and collided into an SUV operated by John F. Coughlin, 64, of 9466 Horseshoe Island Road, Clay. Coughlin died in the crash.

Lane was ticketed for failure to keep right, passing a double solid line, not wearing a seatbelt and use of a cell phone while operating a vehicle.
