The races at the Franklin were about five minute long "shorts" where a group of individuals wearing #s like at the race track ran to the finish line changing places throughout the run so all the kids holding the numbers would go nuts screaming for their number. I won once. They gave out "boy" prizes and "girl" prizes. I was not amused. I got some sort of metal thing that was supposed to be artistic while the boys got great stuff for sports. It was the beginning of my foray into liberation for my kind. Rally, ladies, rally.
