Kathleen,
So glad you are finally doing genealogy on your family. I have been doing it for years and have researched into both sides, my mothers and fathers. It has been a very interesting journey for me and probably will never end until I am know longer here. Unfortunately know other person in my family is interested in continuing with this subject. I have found some rather unforuntate circumstances that have occurred with relatives from generations and generations ago where one was involved with the police and ended up spending time in prison, and another apparently had an affair with the daughter of his present wife and got her impregnated. If you really research you will find these things happen in everyone's family down through the generations. I don't think any family is pure. If you have any relatives that are from Northern New York State, there is a website you can get on that lists the newspapers you can research for possible long lost relatives. I use it all the time, as one of my late grandfather's was from that part of the state. The website is http://news.nnyln.net/. This site covers Saint Lawrence, Jefferson, Franklin, and the other counties across the top of the state.

Are there any other graduates out there who are currently researching their families? Now is the time especially if you are completely retired and have a lot of time on your hands. A mind is a terrible thing to waste and you don't ever want to be idle.

As for myself my brain is constantly working and sometimes when I am in bed and can't get to sleep. This is when I do some of my poetry.

Lately I have been composing poetry verses and put them in cards for fellow employees that are retiring from our county library. It sure beats going out and buying a card when I have all these blank ones to use.

Well my hour is just about up on this computer so I will have to close for now. Until the next time have a great day or evening depending on when you read this.
