So far the only software we've had an issue with was Family Tree for geneology. Believe me I was hesitant on making the plunge. I have used Quicken for years and needed to update to Mac and was concerned with transferring all the data files. After a couple crazy days, I was able to transfer the data, tweak some of the data that for some reason didn't transfer correctly, and set all the accounts up to include check printing. I hadn't updated Quicken in ten years and couldn't believe that the program still had the same glitches, so much for keeping updated.

Can't argue that they cost more, but maybe you get what you pay for. I'm still a new user, so I'm not ready to give Mac a total thumbs up. One dumb thing is the way they backup data to CD's. Floppies were so much easier.
