I have lived in Syracuse, Cortland, Dunkirk and Fredonia. Syracuse includes many suburbs.

In 1974 my ex-wife came home and announced she and the kids were moving to Baltimore and I could come if I wanted. So, off we went to Baltimore where we have been ever since.

I have tried to move away for years, but am still there. Attractions are my two sons, four grandchildren, my meditation group, friends and "pleasant living", part of the Maryland state slogan.

Winters are cold and dry with occasional snow that melts soon. Summer is long and warm with some hot days. I use my A/C a total of 1 - 2 weeks. Fall is later and nice, not quite like New York. Spring is earlier and really beautiful.

I have lived in apartments and, for 7 years, in a commune. Now, I need to buy a house. I spend a lot of time in Syracuse and really like the low home prices. I plan to look in the outer exurbs, beyond the suburbs and before the vacation home zone.

People look at me strangely when I say "camp" which is "vacation home" in the rest of the country.
