I would pray that those of our classmates who do work til they kick the bucket are indeed doing it because they love working and not because they have to in order to survive. I got to where I just didn't like the way the company had begun treating employees--it just wasn't the good place to work it was the first twenty years I was there. Since I made it no secret I was planning to retire early, I just hung in there there the last 10 years. Some folks were already retired on the job--I couldn't do that, and as luck would have it, the company made an early retirement offer to all woth 30 plus years and over 50 years old that enabled me to retire nine months sooner than I had planned. My grandsons had never seen me get up and go to work until I decided to substitue teach seven years ago. It's been great and I encourage young folks to plan and prepare to retire early.
