Subject: Rights and Solemn Oaths

I'm dismayed that so many Americans cannot distinguish between
rights and privileges, and disgusted that they know so little about how this country is "supposed" to be governed.

There is a decided difference between immigrants, refugees, and illegal immigrants. Also, immigrants are expected to assimilate, not set up colonies with their own set of laws. Keeping aspects of their origin culture has always been accepted...look at all the enclaves of immigrants who maintain
traditions and rituals of the countries they immigrated from, but recognize and subscribe to the laws of their adopted country.

Those immigrants who become citizens take an oath of allegiance. Those citizens elected to public office take an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. This oath is very similar to the oath military members swear to...only it seems that only the military are held to their oath under threat of penalty if they don't. Our elected officials break their oath routinely. Should they not also be held to the standard our mitary are?

All this coddling of illegals and ignoring of oaths is not good for the country. I'd write more but the ncaa tournament is demanding my attention.
