Hi Bolagard,

OK, maybe I did misrepresent the material in the article in question by saying it was "good". My actual quote from the original post was:

It presents one of the best dialogues I've seen regarding the Bush Administration's efforts against Iraq.

Kristof makes his points in a noninflammatory manner. This is as opposed to Dowd, Krugman, and a many other liberals. You see, liberals tend to argue in nonquantifiable terms. In so doing, we stray from the subject and argue semantics, which is fine with them since they have no argument in the first place. For example, on the show 'Polically Incorrect' with Bill Mahr, there was a discussion title, "What it takes to be President", or words to that effect. Mahr opened the segment by asking how a 'moron' like Bush ever got to be president. Similarly, in the debate on war with Iraq, the discussion is deflected to whether Bush is a war monger or not, and not if we need to use force in our foreign policy. So, in that respect, Kristof wrote a 'good' dialogue even though his points were not that strong.

One of my pet pieves is the blatant spin different media outlets will put on individual stories as well as the overall focus on certain topics. If you continue to visit us, you'll see examples of this as time goes on. So, when I see what I consider a decent article that is not biased, I'll try to highlight it for discussion. It doesn't mean I agree with it though.

In deference to your input, I will try to make my personal position clearer in the future.

Richard
