I am researching the family of John Gilbreath (1768-1850) and Mary Coffee (1758-1843). Both of these people are buried in Maury County, Tennessee.

According to many researchers, John had a younger sister, Elizabeth. We know from census records, etc. that Elizabeth was born in 1783 in Virginia, that she married Nathan Coffee on March 6, 1806 in Adair County, Kentucky and she died on June 18, 1846. She and Nathan are also buried in Maury County, Tennessee.

On more than one occasion, one of Nathan and Elizabeth Gilbreath Coffee’s sons, William M. Coffee, stated that Elizabeth’s parents were Hugh Gilbreath (maybe Galbraith) and Nancy Cleveland.

I have never been able to verify this one way or the other.

I ran across the Cleveland Family Chronicles website with all the information on the “Southern Clevelands”. From my own research I know that there were marriages between the Gilbreath and Coffee families and many researchers point out marriages bwteen the Coffee and Cleveland families.

I was wondering if anyone had any knowledge or information on a union between a Cleveland and a Gilbreath or perhaps a spare Nancy Cleveland lying around that might fit into what I am looking for.

I would deeply appreciate any information that anyone might have.
