> > > > This summer I have received several notes asking me how to obtain the 3-volume Cleveland genealogy published in 1899 by Edmund Janes Cleveland and Horace Gillette Cleveland. There are two ways actually: one is through interlibrary loan and the other by ordering a reprint.
> > > > The problem with interlibrary loan is that finding a *borrowable* copy is difficult. My local library (here in Southern IL) searched all the way to the University of
Virginia to get me a copy, and then I photocopied and photocopied and photocopied. This process was several years ago, and even then I could tell the pages in the books
were getting *very* brittle. Many reports I am receiving today indicate that the books are no longer available for use outside the library that houses them. It's possible that
there are microfilm copies available, but I don't have any source information for the microfilm at this time.
> > > > The other alternative is biting the financial bullet and ordering reprints. For this possibility, I have been directing people to Higginson Books because I have seen the
Cleveland genealogy set mentioned periodically in their ad in *Genealogical Helper.* After receiving so many questions about this set this summer, I e-mailed Higginson Books and asked them their official word on the set. A lovely man named George responded with this e-mail:
> > > > "Greetings: We change ads in the Genealogical Helper magazine every two months. The Cleveland set was on sale in June for $65.00 per volume. The list price in our latest catalog is $119.00 per volume. We will be glad to forward you a complimentary set for review purposes. If you feel the set is worth the $65.00 per volume, you can mention it in both your newsletter and on your website at that special
price. Shipping for the 3 volumes would be $9.00. We accept mastercard, visa and checks. However, we do print to order and delivery time is at least ten weeks. If you feel you cannot approve of the set, then please return it. Let us know what your decision is. Higginson Books"
> > > > So if you are interested in this set, as I am, please be sure to mention that you read about it at the Cleveland Family Chronicles website so that you can get the
special rate. Their e-mail address is HIGGINSN@COVE.COM.

> > > Vikki Lyn, great website! Really appreciate your Cleveland background info. I tried to contact Higginson books at the email address given and could not get through.
Did however find them at higginsonbooks.com Also wondered if we got over five people to order a set if there was a further discount? I realize the $65/volume is pretty
reasonable, but every little bit counts. Thanks again for all your great work on the Cleveland Family Chronicles. Sandy
> > Hi, Vikki, I am interest in the books, did you ever get the chance to review them? and if so was th'ere mention of Cleveland's from England or was it mainly the US Clevelands I am still trying to find my great great grandparents names & family . > Thanks for posting in the Forum, Brenda. I have my volumes ordered from Higginson, but I haven't received them yet. Expected arrival is still a few weeks away. When I do get them, though, I will post contents here for anyone who may want to buy just one volume. Thanks for giving me the idea. The only volume I spent any real research time
with so far was Volume III because it contains Southern Line information, so I don't know if there is anything on the English cousins. Perhpas someone who has worked with all three volumes can answer Brenda please?

Vikki Lyn, In reference to the three volume set, I have
purchased it in microfiche form this past spring from:
Ancestor Publishers, PO Box 682, Arvada, CO 80001
Web Site-www.AncestorSpy.com for their catalog. At the time I bought mine it was $40.00 for all 1000 pages.
Keep up the good work. Shirley Cleveland-Hess
