Jennifer
Ancestry.com has a great an enormous database and if you can't trace your Cleveland ancestry there, then it can't be done. I just returned from a 10 day vacation to New England. I visited the towns and graves of ancestors of the Cleveland line. If you know your great great grandfather, you can easily get started. Good luck.
Sincerely Mark

Hi Mark: Can you elaborate a little on your trip? Did you by any chance visit the burial sites of some of the earlier Clevelands? I descend from Jacob Cleveland/Millie White; Jeremiah; William; John Clark Cleveland; Bark Foreman Cleveland; Mason Foreman Cleveland. I know (thanks to this site!)(and Henry Drennan's)that Jacob and Millie are buried in Elbert Co. Georgia, but what of the line further back? When people say these ancestors are buried at such and such a cemetery, it is not enough for those of us who are not familiar with those areas. I live on the West Coast. A trip such as yours is a dream trip for most of us, especially when time is so special (time off work..); and also valuable (travel expenses). To be able to go at all is a luxury, but not to know where you are going when you get there can turn what could be a once in a life time, productive and memorable trip into a non-productive disaster. I have extended family in Virginia who would go so far as to look for me, but I need specifics. Are you willing to share the directions to some of the old cemeteries, or do you plan to in the future, or should we plan on doing it on our own? It seems so much like reinventing the wheel... Thanks for your input. Carolyn
