In the CFCRS database, this is the note I have on William Johnson Cleveland: *Not on
most lists of children of Robert and Alice Mathis Cleveland, but appears to have been
established by DAR as "approved line." Birth dates given as 1768 or between 1770 and
1775. Birth place may have been Rowan County, TN. Death date may have been Aug
1834. Buried in "Colonel Martin's Cemetery at Belview at Cato" in Trousdale County, TN.
Rev. soldier.* Assuming the Benjamin Cleveland you mentioned was Robert's brother,
Colonel Benjamin Cleveland, I have done a lot of research on Colonel Ben, and I haven't
seen William Johnson Cleveland listed as one of his, though he did have an
acknowledged illegitimate daughter named Jemima.

Good luck with your research.

Love and blessings,
Vikki L. Jeanne Cleveland
