My husband's ggrandfather was Ezra Cleveland who is said to be a direct descendent
of President Grover Cleveland. The following is his ggrandfather's obituary. EZRA
CLEVELAND, was born in New York State June 4, 1844. Died at Bedford, MO, July 6,
1919, age 75 years, l month & 8 days. The deceased moved with his parents to Illinois
when he was only two years old. At the age of seventeen he joined the Union Army,
serving two years with the "50th Illinois Regiment". After being severly wounded he
was honorably discharged and about one year later was again drafted back into the
service serving one year more. He was with General Sherman on his famous march
through the South to the sea. He was married to Darneda Medivin Hunsaker July 4,
1865. To this union were born 10 children, eight of which survive being Alexander,
Archie & Sinaca Cleveland, Elsie Garzee, Drusilla Scott, Della Yingling, Elizabeth
Sweihart, & Bertha Sheets. Can anyone tell me the relation of this family to Grover
Cleveland. Family lore has it that he was an uncle. Would appreciate any information.

Thank you,Vikki, for the information on Ezra. Is there a web site or other written
information that I can research this further data on the family. My son will be elated
with this news & will want to know more. If you would have a copy of this obituary & a
photo of Ezra< I will be glad to send it to you if you will send me an address to mail it
to. Again thanks for supplying us with this information.

Grover Cleveland was born in 1837. He could not have had a direct descendant born in 1844.

Hi, Sherry! I have your Ezra in our database, though I have his place of death as
Quincy, IL, with burial in Bedford??? Ezra and President Grover Cleveland were sixth
cousins ~ their common ancestors were Moses and Ann Winn Cleveland.

Ezra's line was as follows: Ezra < Ezra and Chastina Fairbanks Cleveland < Henry and
Anna Ward Cleveland < Asa and Mary Dibble Cleveland < Elijah and Alice Lawrence
Cleveland < Joseph and Abigail Hyde Cleveland < Samuel and Persis Hildreth Cleveland
< Moses and Ann Winn Cleveland.

related to Grover, I think she may have been an aunt. Does anyone have a grover
cleveland ancestory tree.

Steven Grover Cleveland was Named after a Minister Steven Grover. His father very much admired the man. The Grovers were from NJ where Pres Cleveland was born.
I am related to Pres Cleaveland and to Many of the NJ Grovers as well. I thought there was a conection, but I have found out there is not
