I am seeking any information that any one might have about Pvt. Charles F. Cleveland. b. Aug.14, 1844 Hartford, N.Y. d. Feb.29, 1908, Utica NY. buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Oneida Co, N.Y. Enlistd in the Union Army 26th NY Infantry Volunteers, Company C, Fought in the battle at Antietam, Md. Sept 17,1862,Was awarded the Congressional Metal of Honor. Upon discharge he settled in Utica, N.Y. and rose thru the ranks of the Utica Police Dept. to become Chief of that Dept.
Would like any information one might have on who his parents were and any other family members, including any brothers or sisters. My own feeling is that he's from the Moses Cleveland and Ann Winn Family, But I have nothing that can link him with Moses and Ann Winn
