Do you or your children have difficulties with reading or spelling?
Is this causing difficulties for you at school/college/work?
Is it preventing you (or your child) from reaching your potential?
A dyslexic child frequently experiences a sense of failure. They cannot understand why they find it so hard to do the work that others find easy. They feel the hurt and embarrassment of being considered “stupid”or "slow.” This leads to lack of confidence that they carry to adulthood.
Dyslexia can affect someone’s whole life unless it is recognised and managed and the first step is a full, diagnostic, learning assessment carried out by a specialist.

Assessment includes:
Pre-assessment questionnaire
Initial consultation to discuss background and difficulties
Full diagnostic learning assessment
Comprehensive written report with recommendations for home/school/college or your employer
Verbal consultation to discuss findings and allow you time to ask questions

To help you decide whether to proceed with an assessment, email or phone for a list of signs and symptoms of dyslexia.

Subject: Early detection of dyslexia?

Date Posted: 10:25:08 03/24/09 Tue

Can developmental dyslexia be identified in pre-readers? The Gaab lab is currently investigating early language characteristics in pre-reading children (ages 4 to 6). Because reading problems tend to run in families, we aim to look at how young children who have at least one family member diagnosed with dyslexia use their brains. The main goal is to identify children at risk for developmental dyslexia at a very early age, before reading skills are even present. An advanced understanding of brain processes in children with a risk for developmental dyslexia may help us to improve and implement early remediation programs. To learn more about this study and how to participate, please contact us at gaablab@gmail.com (subject: early detection of dyslexia)

I have a 9-yr old little girl that is in need of some help. She has been diagnosed with dyslexia. The school board of education here does not recognize dyslexia as a learning "issue". (I will not call it a learning disability for it isnt! It is just a different learning style.) I need help in finding her some help either by a tutor or what ever. I am to the point to where I want to cry. My daughter is classified as being too smart for LD classes but too slow for regular class. Any ideas or help is and will always be greatly appreciated!

Did you know that 20% of the population (1 out of 5 people!) has dyslexia and that some of those individuals don't know they have it? I am a tutor in private practice trained in an Orton-Gillingham based tutoring system designed to help dyslexic and non-dyslexic children and adults with spelling, reading, and writing in a one-on-one setting. This system is a multi-sensory approach that incorporates research by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) on phonemic awareness and fluency. A consistent success rate using this system's practical techniques with children led to its approval by the California State Board of Education in May 2003 for use in grades K-12. If you would like more information regarding the details of this system, I can be reached at dkaplan.tutor@gmail.com or (805) 358-0600. FYI: Serving Ventura County, California and nearby communities.

I am a former college Learning Specialist and the parent of an LD/ADD son who graduated college successfully. After seeing so many of my college students struggle academically and make judgmental errors that unwittingly sabotaged their progress, I decided it might be better to help them PROactively.

I wrote a course, CONQUER COLLEGE WITH LD/ADD, that I teach locally at Gwynedd Mercy College in Gwynedd Valley, PA. It has received excellent reviews by students and parents alike. However, from participating in online forums, I have received inquiries from all over the country about "CONQUER COLLEGE". As a result,I have decided to put a website up and put my course up in the form of webinars!

I also teach the course privately, via Skype, for anyone interested. The course is open to all in high school, but the sooner one takes it, the better. This course is an INVESTMENT to protect tuition dollars that I so often see go down the drain. It absolutely can make the difference between success and failure for a motivated student.

KORE ACADEMY | ids Obtaining Real Education

History: KORE Academy was founded in October 2003 by a small group of parents wishing to obtain quality education for their children with various learning disabilities. Recognizing that their children’s needs were not being met in the traditional classroom, these parents came to the realization that they would have to create the alternative their children needed. Thus, KORE Academy was born.

Program: KORE Academy exists to help students with average/low average intelligence who struggle in the traditional classroom due to various learning differences such as dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, or processing disorders. This is a highly structured program with the goal of individualizing instruction to meet the needs of students having a wide range of abilities.

Entrance: Parents and teachers meet to discuss current performance, learning issues, previous testing, etc. in order to discern if the school would be an appropriate placement for the child. Once a child is tentatively accepted into the program, a trial period of 4 and 1/2 weeks is used to make the final determination as to whether the school is a good fit for the child.
*Students with behavior problems are not accepted into KORE Academy.

Grades/Class Size: Currently, KORE Academy offers classes at three levels: intermediate (grades 3-5), middle school (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12). The intermediate and middle school classes are self-contained, with a maximum of eight students. The high school homeroom can accommodate up to 20 students, with a maximum of eight students in individual classes.

KORE Academy’s staff includes:
• Director w/certification in Learning Disabilities & Counseling
• Teachers certified either in education or in their subject field
• Reading Specialist – one-on-one instruction
• Montessori trained intermediate teacher
• Over 90 years teaching experience among staff

“KORE Ten”:

• Individual Education Plans for each student
• Small groups – 1 teacher to 8 students maximum
• Grade level and ability grouping
• Multi-sensory instruction
• Respect for a variety of learning styles
• Emphasis on basics
• Phonics-based reading instruction

Irlen Syndrome is an inherited condition which co-exists with dyslexia. It can cause reading difficulties, writing problems and make comprehension a trial. If you or your child put in an inordinate amount of effort and still underachieve, arrive home exhausted after a day's work or get headaches when undertaking visual tasks then we may be able to help. We offer assessment, support and treatment for Irlen Syndrome from nursery to university and all points beyond. Also workplace audits and health and safety issues associated with visual stress. Training for tutors/teachers/TA's in identification and interventions.

The Prentice School provides a unique learning environment purposely designed for children with language-based learning differences. Prentice is the only day school in Orange County and one of only a few in California with a program that focuses solely on the needs of children with dyslexia. While our primary service area is Orange County, Prentice also draws students from Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. On average, for each academic year, we have 240 students enrolled from approximately 36 different Southern California cities. Prentice teachers receive extensive training in the Slingerland® Approach, an adaptation for classroom use of the Orton-Gillingham method. This innovative instructional method is central to our students’ successes. There are three major learning pathways – visual, auditory and kinesthetic (the memory of sequential movement in writing and speech).

ANNOUNCING A NEW DYSLEXIA WEBSITE FROM THE HEART OF TEXAS

http://www.dyslexiavoice.info

The guiding purpose of my website is to spread encouragement, and to say to all: never, never, ever give up.

Included on my new website is a Parent's Corner, Teacher's Corner and a special section just for children. In the Children's Corner is a link to a FREE typing course for ages 7-11 that uses animals to do the teaching. It is delightful. Then there is a link to a website developed by a bright 12 year old with dyslexia. This site can be a boost to your child's self esteem as he sees another child with dyslexia doing something so neat.

Also included is a section on encouragement and a highlight of a famous living dyslexic.

You have an opportunity to leave a message or a blog about your experiences with dyslexia. Letting your child blog about their dyslexia is a neat way to help them understand it and to air their feelings.

WHAT'S THIS THING CALLED DYSLEXIA? a Handbook for Students, Parents and Teachers by Ray Ham, M.Ed. Copyright 1989, 2001

The author is foutunate in that he found a teacher with dyslexia who tutors children with dyslexia. All of the illustrations in the 28 page, professionally bound handbook are by the teacher and students with dyslexia.

The intended audience for WHAT'S THIS THING CALLED DYSLEXIA,
is the elementary school child who finds reading difficult; thus, the purpose of a read-aloud approach. Also, this approach allows the adult reader an opportunity to discuss the concepts in the handbook with the child.

Besides imparting information to the child about dyslexia, the theme throughout the handbook is one of encouragement. The author is not teaching a feel-good-and-everything-will- be-OK approach; but he does believe that positive reinforcement, a huge dose of love, and encouragement from parents, friends and teachers will assist children with dyslexia in developing their full potential.

The end of the handbook has this saying: I MAY HAVE DYSLEXIA BUT DYSLEXIA DOES NOT HAVE ME.

With a little bit of creative thought and discussion with others, this saying can be used in a variety of ways to encourage children with dyslexia.

If you are interested in getting pricing information for this handbook, please email rayham@sbcglobal.net with dyslexia as the subject line. SORRY! LIMITED TO THE USA.

Subject: Remove the problems of Visual Dyslexia

Author:
John A. Hayes
[Edit]

Date Posted: 11:46:41 12/09/07 Sun

The visual problems associated with visual dyslexia are individual specific and varied but all result in difficulty seeing and comprehending the printed word. Some visual dyslexics have visual problems that involve motion such as words falling off the page, words appearing to be behind a waterfall or words that seem to be jumping all of which make reading a battle. Other visual dyslexics have a pattern where letters are obscured and missing that make reading similar to playing "wheel of fortune". Some other common visual dyslexic problems are letter transpositions and reversals.

The individualistic problems suggested the theory that individualistic solutions of filtering a specific wavelength (or color) of light generated from personal evaluations was needed to correct these problems. While some success could be claimed for the "is this color better than that color" method, the failure rate prohibited having any guarantee and left many clients paying without receiving much benefit. ( there never was any reason to believe that only one color was involved for any particular dyslexic)

With the discovery that a finite list of specific wavelengths of light were causing all of the visual dyslexia problems it became possible to develop the See Right Dyslexia Glasses and filter out all of the wavelengths involved that cause all of the visual problems. This eliminates the need for a personal evaluation.

This also results in several improvements for visual dyslexia problems. The elimination of the need for a personal evaluation not only eliminates the cost of the evaluation but also allows the See Right Dyslexia Glasses to be sold on the Internet. It also becomes possible to offer a money back guarantee.

The See Right Dyslexia Glasses are sold at www.dyslexiaglasses.com . I refuse to overstate the claim for the See Right dyslexia Glasses. They are not for all dyslexics because most dyslexics do not have visual problems that make reading difficult and therefore won't be helped by dyslexia glasses. The See Right Dyslexia Glasses successfully remove any described visual dyslexia problem that makes reading difficult.

I used the phrase "described visual problems" because if someone can describe their visual problem they know when it is removed. Removing described visual problems is the standard I use for the See Right Dyslexia Glasses.

Dyslexic Volunteers Needed For Dyslexia
Research Study

The project, Developmental Phonological Dyslexia: Neural
Mechanisms, headed by Dr. Richard E. Frye, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.A.P., of
the University of Texas, is looking for volunteers willing to participate in a
research study investigating brain activation patterns in the dyslexic brain
with non-invasive magnetic source imaging techniques. The aim of this
research study is to obtain a better understanding of the various ways
dyslexic brains process different types of words.
Participants, both with and without dyslexia, should be right-handed,
between the ages of 18-40 with no known history of psychiatric disorders.
After a brief screening questionnaire, selected participants will undergo an
evaluation of their IQ, language and attention skills. Brain imaging with
magnetoencephalography (MEG) and a magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) scan will also be done. All testing will occur at the University of
Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Completion of all of the testing
will probably require return visits. There are no known risks associated
with this study, but individuals with claustrophobia could be uncomfortable
in the MRI scanner.
Participants will be compensated for their time and their parking expenses.
If you are interested in participating in this study, please contact,

EFA Focus for Kids is composed of essential fatty acids (High-EPA balanced blend of omega oils).

It is based on scientically controlled classroom research conducted in elementary schools which demonstrated dramatic improvement in reading and spelling achievement in the group of children receiving the specially formulated essential fatty acids compared with those receiving placebo treatment.

The unique benefits result from optimization of the ratios of the essential fatty acids by molecular and fractional distillation techniques.

Each daily dose is provided in a child and parent-friendly aluminum lined packet containing smooth creamy tropical fruit-flavored liquid.
This packaging protects the fragile omega oils from oxidation and prevents spills.

EFA-Focus.com website provides links to published peer-reviewed research studies, and glossary explaining terms related to benefits of high EPA blends of essential fatty acids in learning disorders

VOICEYE PC MATE is innovative reading device for learning disabilities. Now apply for 'VOICEYE' demo to know more about it.visit to www.voiceye.com or write to cmo@adinc.co.kr

VOICEYE was introduced in the year 2005 and since then, persons with visual disabilities and those who support and care about them have given us many positive and negative feedbacks. They have taught us the various potential of VOICEYE and advised us on improvements by giving us their ideas and suggestions.
In South Korea, we have successfully launched the VOICEYE solution in schools for learning disabilities, universities with special education, publishing companies, state run corporations, local newspapers and others. We are confident to say with our experience that it is an effective tool for information access in the U.S. as well. Our continuous effort to have the VOICEYE symbol incorporated on all printed matter takes time and we feel that with every person/organization we come in to contact, we are taking one step closer to realize this goal.
We wish is to contact anyfacilities and schools interested in VOICEYE to set up a program to test the software/hardware solution before its official launch in the U.S.
Our U.S. staff is ready at hand to provide a VOICEYE demonstration. Please contact us for further information regarding the Voiceye field study or demonstration. Thank you for your time and interest.

I recently came across a company that uses one tone multi-sensory approaches in working with students with Dyslexia and Dysgraphia. It has helped my son immensely. They have been trained and founded back in 1986 using the Orton Gillingham methods to work with students. These methods give my son the strategies to help in all his studies. I am so pleased and wanted to pass it on. They are located in Tustin, California. The name is The Extra Edge on Newport Avenue. There phone is 714-838-2343. Hope this helps another family like it is helping mine!

Hello, my name is Kelly Williams and my son's name is Michael. Michael is severely dyslexic. Despite his problems in reading writing and math, he attends Dulles High School and is doing very well. I recently was reading some information about children with dyslexia and was sadden to learn that they are more likely to be bullied. I just wanted to let some of the parents know that I was very concerned about this. Michael is a very sweet young man and does not like to fight at all. Knowing him, he'd would rather get beat up then risk hurting someone else. When I met my husband 4 years ago, we enrolled Michael into the martial arts. His step father is a Martial arts Instructor and cuts Michael no slack in class. He gets treated just like the other students and receives the full benefits of learning the martial art, just like the rest of the students. I have noticed a great growth in Michael since starting martial arts. He no longer lets other children effect him in a negative way. He looks them in the eyes and tries to talk to them about what is going on instead of letting them bully him. Michael had a good friend. One day my son came to me and said that he did not want to talk to the friend any more. I asked why and Michael said that this friend was starting to do drugs. Before telling me this, I had noticed that Michael brought him to Karate class a few times, trying to help him. When I asked why his friend was not coming any more, Michael honestly told me that his friend was doing drugs and Michael tried to help him but since his friend did not want to stop, Michael had no other choice but not to talk to him any more. Michael has excelled in school, he is much more confident and is not embarrassed to be in the special need classes. He used to be afraid that kids would make fun of him, this does not happen anymore. Michael's best friend is handicapped. Where as some kids might be ashamed of this, Michael just does not care about other people's opinions. Michael sees that there are much more important things in life now. Martial Arts has helped Michael with school work, friendships, and given him the strength to stand up against bullies. Michael has gained this confident through his accomplishments in martial arts and is still growing daily. Dyslexic children need a solid foundation so that hurdles feel within their jump. Achieving goals and receiving praise works wonders. I truly know that I owe Michael's accomplishments to martial arts, and I am very proud of him, I remember going to an ARD meeting one time and being told that Michael would be a construction worker. There is nothing wrong with that but how dare they put limitations on my son. That hurt me and I thought Michael will prove them wrong. He will show them. Now things have been gradual changing, Michael keeps moving up and up. I have such a wonderful son and thought that this is very interesting story. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope that there are many more stories with happy endings out there.

I'm a cognitive psychologist in Florence, Italy. I constantly deal with dyslexics (the number of dyslexics grow, or is it that it's now that we accept that dyslexia really exists?), ADDs and people with working memory issues.
I trust technologies when done well. It's difficult to find a software that really helps dyslexics and at the same time doesn't mean that the individual is "different".
I've been looking for technologies all around the world, the most sold, the most known... mere drawings, passive, no interaction. Motivation and perception are aided by interaction.
I've found it "here".
It's Knowledge Manager. Though the authors (I've found out that some of them are colleagues) claim that these are concept maps, what they really manage is knowledge bases, that look like concept maps. It's the way to obtain deep interaction, they say.
This software is multilingual and uses cognitive strategies like categorization, and a lot of automation.
Reading aloud is also possible, and question/answering.
The conversion of external text to "maps" is interactive, with automatic hinting.
Some reading aids are very helpful too.
I've found out that it's also spreading all over the world.
Some research using Knowledge Manager is being organized in other countries.
KM uses templates and a default (as well as a standard) way to organize maps. The fact that it is the only software based on the principles psychology amazes me.

This software can be seen at:
www.knowledgemanager.eu
www.knowledgemanager.us
www.mapasconceptuales.info

I've been trying to include a logo from their site, but haven't found how to do it.

We have been developing a teaching system for parents, teachers and tutors based on our personal family experiences dealing with dyslexia.
We have manuals, courses and now E-lessons for dyslexic or ADD/ADHD students.
Our methods have been very successful with parents and teachers who are frustrated with their school system's lack of help and concern with these kids. We focus on a right brain approach to learning so they CAN adapt to left brain teaching systems in our schools.
We believe that many dyslexic children CAN be taught to read, spell and write without relying on phonics (phonics becomes a back-up). We believe they can be shown how to get the right information they need from a teacher to be successful with their classroom work. We also feel that the child's self-esteem is very important and has to be reinforced every day through different methods.
Please check out our website for more information. We would appreciate the opportunity to respond to your emails with questions. www.dyslexiavictoria.ca
My daughter was assessed in the six grade for learning problems. They said her reading, spelling and comprehension levels were at a grade two level and that she probably wouldn't improve much. That wasn't acceptable to me and I didn't have the money to put her in an expensive school for kids with special needs or pay for pricey tutors. The next years were hard but my mother ( a retired teacher) and I developed a system to teach my daughter. By Grade twelve she was doing really well with reading, spelling and writing AT her school level. Now at twenty-seven you would not be able to tell from her writing that she ever had a reading and spelling problem.
She runs a family fence construction business in California with more than twenty-five employees. Dyslexia no longer holds her back. In fact, her right brain thinking style benefits her in business and makes her more effective as a general manager.

Did you know that 130 studies commissioned by the federal government and our own testing of thousands of students across America, have found that weak auditory processing skills are the major cause of students reading and spelling below grade level. The good news is:

Auditory processing weaknesses can be identified, trained, and strengthened. Strengthened auditory processing skills will lead to easier, faster, and more fluent reading.

We have developed manuals, distance learning courses and teacher's aids to help teachers, tutors and parents work with dyslexic and ADD/ADHD students. We are now developing E books and E lessons to compliment our other learning materials.
Our methods are based on viewing these children or adults as right brained learners who perceive and process the world in whole images, think in concrete pictures and not in abstract words and numbers.
Our teaching methods can be used in conjunction with established assessments or with our own evaluation procedures. Where most evaluation systems isolate 5 skills we concentrate on 20.
We do not perceive dyslexia as a disability but a learning difference. We realize that the "dyslexic" individual has many learning strengths that are not always recognized in the regular class room setting. Their unique ability to see "outside the box" and see "the big picture" enables them to perform extraordinarily well in school and the work place if taught the right skills. Most of our lessons simply allow the student to learn what needs to be accomplished in the classroom but in a way that makes sense to them. Our methods are simple to imlement by both parents and teachers and we have witnessed rapid changes and results over the last 10 years.

Subject: Need help to work with Department of Defense Schools

Author:
Kathy Cutforth

Date Posted: 06:02:33 06/14/06 Wed

We live in Germany and the only school my son can attend is run by DODDS--Department of Defense Dependents Schools. My son has had an IEP for speech difficulties since he was 3 years old and fits all the boxes of Dyslexia, although he has not been officially diagnosed.

I believe that he had not recieved the amount and intensity of services he needed at the time he needed them and I would like to challenge the school system so others don't experience what we have been through. The district provides very limited training in phonics, and what training there is appears to be limited to special ed. only. The School District does not recognizing dyslexia and has not specifically recruited or track professionals trained in methods shown to work for children with dyslexia, does not offer a reading intervention program in Kindergarten and puts all its eggs in the Whole Language/Reading Recovery Basket. Any purchased programed materials in phonics, such as Primary Phonics, Explode the Code, and others tends to be incomplete and not officially part of the school's special ed. or school reference library.

I have provided copies of research backing my claims and pointed out the the No Child Left Behind Act mandates research-backed reading methods, which points to phonics as an important component for early reading success for all students. I recently talked to the district special education supervisor, and have been told that DODDS does not recognized sequential, explicit and multisensory phonics instruction as a technique for reading instruction or for remediation.

My son and has been privately tutored every day since November 2005 by a Lindamood-Bell trained speech therapist who is certified in Project Read, and was tutored by a certified teacher trained in Slingerland once or twice a week from Jan. 2004 before that. He is currently reading at the mid-first grade reading level and I am homeschooling him next year to try to give him the intensity of instruction he needs.

I am convinced that my son is where he is at primarily because I have hired tutors to make up the deficit. I do not want to expend all my energy fighting the school, yet something needs to be said. My tutor is willing to back me up with her own observations.

Living overseas means I have access to fewer resources and have fewer avenues to protest or appeal. I also do not want to sever ties with the school and the good things that it does do, especially since I have few other options here. DODDS is a federal agency and is not like a typical school district. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. Those with prior experience dealing with DODDS, please speak up!

During many years of research into the causes of and solutions for dyslexia, I have found that the major difference between those diagnosed as "dyslexic" and those diagnosed as "typical-achievement students" is that "typical-achievement students" are able to find "their own way around" the built-in traps in every one of our present reading methods. However, when these traps are removed, "dyslexic" students are able to progress in reading just as are "typical-achievement students."

The simplified reading method that avoids every reading trap is "At Last! A Reading Method for EVERY Child." You can check out the reading traps on the following link (and you will note how easy it is to identify which trap (or traps) your dyslexic student is caught in) and how "At Last!" successfully removes every one of these traps:

Hello,

During many years of research, I discovered that the major difference between dyslexics and typical-achievement students is that dyslexics are unable to find "their own way" around the built-in traps in all of our present reading methods. With the aid of the world's best experts (the children themselves), I was able to comprise a SIMPLIFIED reading method that removes all of these traps - therefore making it possible for dyslexic students to progress in reading just as do typical-achievement students. You can check out these traps on http://www.sft-tech.com/cgi-bin/faq.cgi?ctr=3 and you can check out this SIMPLIFIED reading method on http://www.OnlineReadingTeacher.com. There is also a Message Board to answer all of your reading questions.

You will note that this SIMPLIFIED phonics method has received wide acclaim from every leading professional and lay source. If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area, tutoring is available for dyslexic students at an affordable price. Remarkable results are promised.

May this information be an encouragement to those who have long awaited a breakthrough for the far-reaching financial and emotional pitfalls of dyslexia.

Blessings,

See Right Dyslexia Glasses (patent pending)are only available on the web at dyslexiaglasses.com .These dyslexia glasses are unique in that they do not require an expensive personal evaluation and also have a 100% satisfaction money back guarantee.

My claim is that for the dyslexic that can describe a visual problem that makes reading difficult the See Right Dyslexia Glasses will remove that problem 100% of the time.

The See Right Dyslexia Glasses are not magic . They help between one quarter and one third of dyslexics . This also means that between two thirds and three quarters of dyslexics will not be helped by these glasses.

The website addresses who can expect to be helped by the dyslexia glasses and just as importantly who should not expect to be helped .

I know this isn't the standard way to do business in the dyslexia industry . I have identified the target group of dyslexics that will be helped by the See Right Dyslexia Glasses and identified those who will not be helped .

This unique approach is what enables me to offer the 100% money back guarantee and not require any reason for their return . There is a 5% return rate for adult glasses and about a 10% return rate for the child size frames .

The higher return rate for children is expected as second hand information as well as information from children's perceptions are just not as reliable as information directly from adults .

There are presently 2 locations where you can try the See Right Dyslexia Glasses for free and evaluate them without having to buy them on the web . One is at my Location in Atlantic Beach,Florida (near Jacksonville )and the other is at The Helping Hand Society in London England.Details are
at dyslexiaglasses.com .I plan to have more locations over time .

I have also just started a Visual Dyslexia Forum on the website and everyone is invited to participate . I hope that over time the information on the forum will be more helpful than testimonials and continue to refine the information needed to drtermine who will and will not be helped with the See Right Dyslexia Glasses.

Present Price of the glasses is $220 USD with free shipping in the US and Canada . World wide shipping is provided at extra cost.

My name is Mira Halpert, and I am the director of 3D Learner.

The 3D Learner program was born out of frustration. NOBODY seemed to know how to help my children learn HOW to learn. The more research I did on "dyslexia", the clearer it became that we were looking at my kids the wrong way. We have been taught that in order to help kids, look at what is wrong and fix it. When you turn it around to look at what is RIGHT, it changes everything.

Our children have untapped resources that are going unnoticed and unused. When we uncover and unlock those resources, amazing things will follow.

Our mission is to help visual-experiential learners to make dramatic progress in collaboration with parents and professionals. We have been in existence for eight years with many students making 2, 3, and even 4 years reading gains in a year. We are equally happy that we improve the child's vision, attention, and self esteem.

Hello,
My name is Adam Vogel and I am currently conducting research on the neurological underpinnings of dyslexia at Hamline University in Saint Paul MN. The purpose of this posting is to reach out for participants who have been diagnosed with dyslexia.
Since the late 1980’s dyslexia has been identified as a neurological disorder in the visual system, specifically a visual pathway known as the, “magnocellular” pathway. However, how a neurological dysfunction results into poor reading remains a topic of great debate.
My study is the first of it’s kind, investigating a very specific aspect of this neurological dysfunction, which will greatly benefit our understanding of how dyslexia manifests from a neurological impairment. I would love to continue writing about this study, however, I am afraid it has already become too wordy and (if you haven’t done so already) you will stop reading it. For those who are interested and have made it through this post :) please contact me (avogel01@hamline.edu) for further information about participating in this study or any general questions you have about dyslexia as a neurological dysfunction.
Thank you very much!

Dyslexia Therapy
One Session - complete transformation
No Change - No Charge
Complete money-back guarantee

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) can solve your, or your child’s, dyslexia problem.

As an NLP practitioners, we approach dyslexia as an inappropriate learning strategy, at an unconscious level. Our therapy focuses on teaching the client a new reading strategy, one modelled from an outstanding reader.

By working with the client’s visual internal representations, the strategy is installed at the unconscious level, so the client can enjoy the vivid experience of mentally constructed imagery (those movies people watch in their head when they read) in just an hour’s session. The spelling strategy will enable the client to visualise letters clearly – to spell fluently, forwards and even backwards.

This NLP therapy can bring about truly magical and magnificent change. If the client is not astounded with the results of the transformational change, we offer a complete money back guarantee. That’s why our policy is “No Change – No Charge”.

As parents of a Dyslexic child, we have come to understand the kind of frustration that you and your child go through.

This is why we opened U 2 Can Learn, in order to bring the Brightstar program to the Midlands, as you’re aware this program has changed the lives of hundreds of Dyslexic individuals in the London area.

And it has for our son, in just 6 weeks which consisted of 12 Brightstar Technology sessions and six one to one teaching sessions which were tailor made for his individual needs, he is now a very confident and eager young man.

As proud parents we want to show you how you can give your child a fighting chance in their education, but just as important how to improve their self esteem and confidence.

The results of our 9 year old son are astounding.

Word recognition: from 7 years to 9 years & 6 months
Spelling: from 6 years & 7 months to 8 years & 5 months
Comprehension:from 7 years & 10 months to 8 yeas & 7 months
Accuracy: from 6 years & 10 months to 7 years & 9 months

Since completing the BrightStar program he is now reading whole sentences not just words, his spelling homework from school was always a battle now it’s a joy to help him, he often attempts uncommon or long words which he never did before.

Another area that has improved is his memory, we no longer get the tantrums and “I forgot” when asked questions on the page he has just read. Since returning to school he has volunteered and been voted onto the school council, something he would never have done.

U 2 Can Learn mission statement is “to make education support and literacy intervention available to all at an affordable price” unless we did something about the price.

Details of the services we offer at our Telford Centre can be found on our web site

We are co-founders of Dyslexia Rx, LLC , a two-person business that offers testing for dyslexia. Included in the testing is a complete report that proves dyslexia conclusively, suggests an action plan for remediation, and lists accommodations for parents to present to the child’s school.

We also offer one-on-one tutoring in the Orton-Gillingham method, a research-based methodology for remediation in reading, writing, and spelling for people with dyslexia.

We began researching dyslexia several years ago when we noticed that the struggling readers we were working with as teachers were demonstrating similar and unusual patterns of struggle and that they were not improving with traditional best practices in reading instruction.

After years, now, of working with children who are confused by their inability to do what their peers can do quite easily, and who inevitably conclude that they’re stupid, it’s a relief on our part to finally be able to accurately diagnose these students with a very real language processing disorder (dyslexia) –supported by mountains of research – which they share with 20% of the general population.

After seeing the angst of parents who watch their children struggle – even fail – despite years of interventions, we find joy in knowing that, at last, we have a sure way to bring those students up to grade level in reading, writing, and spelling, using best practices for people with dyslexia.

See Right Dyslexia Glasses (patent pending) remove the problems associated with visual dyslexia that make it difficult to read. They are available from the Gifted Learning Project which is a nonprofit corporation started by Girard Sagmiller, author of "Dyslexia My Life".

The See Right Dyslexia Glasses sell for $218 plus shipping and have a 100% satisfaction & 100% money back guarantee .
They come in both adult and child size frames .They can be ordered at seerightglasses.com

There are several reasons why a close reading of the guarantees of products and services supposed to help dyslexics are generally almost worthless and why our guarantee is different. The predominate reason is that the unwritten reality is they have a high failure rate.I can understand that because if See Right Dyslexia Glasses claimed to help all dyslexics then they too would have a high failure rate.

The See Right Dyslexia Glasses do not help the dyslexics that do not have a visual problem. If the dyslexic looks at a page of print and all letters and words are stable, sharp and in focus then the See Right Dyslexia Glasses will not help as that is all they do for the visual dyslexic. They allow the visual dyslexic to see the printed page in a stable sharp and focused manner.

Visual dyslexics seem to be adept at reading the information at seerightglasses.com and determining if the See Right Dyslexia Glasses might help them. There has been about a 5% return rate on the glasses. That also infers that other dyslexics can also determine that their problem is not visual.

To put this into the proper perspective, dyslexics who feel they can determine a visual problem that makes it difficult to read have such a high rate of success with the See Right Dyslexia Glasses that we can offer a complete refund for those that are not helped.( return shipping is not covered)

We are now able to offer See Right Dyslexia Glasses in prescription lenses as special orders. There are a few problems associated with this in keeping with our 100% money back guarantee. As prescription glasses would only be returnable if mistakes were made in the prescription,it will be necessary to try the See Right Dyslexia Glasses to determine if they help your visual dyslexia symptoms first.
Near sighted dyslexics who normally can see the page at a close distance without their glasses should have no problem trying the See Right Dyslexia Glasses by themselves.Far sighted dyslexics or those who wear bifocals will find themselves not only having to try to evaluate them while wearing 2 pairs of glasses but also find that they have to
stop light from entering from the sides for a proper evaluation.

Just 2 more statements
1) See Right Dyslexia Glasses do NOT require a personal evaluation
2)Dyslexics that suffer from poor depth perception are usually visual dyslexics and will also have normal depth perception restored with the glasses

Hello!

I am a Regional Manager for EF Foundation for Foreign Study, a non-profit that facilitates high school exchange. We are currently looking for host families for some of our students. The reason I am writing this forum is because we have a particular student, a girl from the Netherlands, who has dyslexia. As an organization we try to match our students with host families that can provide a caring and understanding environment, so I wanted to see if anyone on this forum might be interested in hosting or know of someone who might make a great host family for this student.

All we ask from our host families is that they provide basic needs, along with a caring environment. Each student comes with their own insurance and spending money, in an effort to decrease any financial hardship on the family. The homestay is for an entire school year and the student would attend your local high school. Please let me know if you are interested in this opportunity.

Thanks so much for your time,

Toby Guevin

I need two-three volunteers to try my technique in overcoming dyslexic symptoms via the net. These symptoms should be permanent so that we could check whether the method works or not. (I have had success with dyslexics in face-to-face training.)

The session will take about one-two hours through Yahoo messenger. It is not harmful, it is not dangerous, at least, it will not be worse; and, it is not about money at all.

I am just curious whether I could do something with dyslexia or not in this way. You can read more about my method on my website - www.proself.com. - even though it does not relate directly to dyslexia.

If you are interested and need more details, send me e-mail – supermind@proself.com.
