Your son sounds similar to mine, he was 'slow' and lost interest in most things very quickly. As I have a mild form of dyslexia, I had him tested privately, and the test indicated dyslexia. For us it was good to know this because I stopped being angry with him for not trying and began to help him instead. Today he is happy in school, has extra help and is keeping up with the work, because he knows that he is not stupid, but just learn differently. It has helped him to better understand why everything is difficult for him, and it has taken the preasure of us at homework time, because we know it just takes longer.
