I ran across this thread and wanted to offer a resource. I am the Outreach Coordinator for Verticy Learning...the program Lisa mentioned. We have Specialists on staff who are more than happy to answer any questions you have about our program, educating your child at home (either yourself, or though a tutor), the Orton-Gillingham methodologies implemented in our curriculum, the computer-based tools that are integrated into the program, and many other education-based concerns. For families who enroll in the Verticy program, Education Counselors are available by phone, email, or Live Chat to support you through the ENTIRE program. For nearly a century, these support specialists have been offering home education advice to families...from how to structure your day, to how to deal with a less-than-enthusiastic child.
Many of our Verticy families deal with similar issues, and act as a support group for each other via our Parent Community and most recently, though our Facebook page.
If you have questions about our program, please consider calling us at 888-544-7116. We would love to help you find a manageable solution for you and your son.
