I understand your fustration. I also have an 8 year old daughter who has dyslexia and ADD. We found out in Sept. 2008 and the school has not been very helpful. Over Christmas break we took my daughter back to the psychologist who first diagnosed for us and he wrote us a recomendation for a 504 plan. We have a meeting with the school tomorrow where I hope to make some progress. I do not know what state you are in, but in Kentucky we have found a school known as the Hindman Settlement School. They offer a tutoring program that is very parent involved. The price is very reasonable (only $75 for 13 weeks). They are able to keep the prices so low because the parents do most of the work, but after talking to several parents and state agencies I have only been told good things about the program.
