I too tried Kumons for my two Dyslexic children. The level of stress it caused in them was way to much. The expectations to do so much caused emotion. I hope you have better luck. I am working with our local school in Florida to have a mult. sensory program used during school hours, and a reduced work load for in the classroom and homework. If you can do 10 problems correct why make a kid to 50. Both my girls can easily spend 3 hours a night on homework. I just went to a Wrightslaw conference (check out his website). You will feel empowered. Two books I love are "From Emotions to Advocacy", and "Special Education Law", there are sections in both that cover FAPE (free appropreate Education) laws. It is still a fight with the school system but at least you will know the laws.
