All though I am not an expert at teaching or have a degree I can fully understand your frustration. I home schooled both of my daughters when they were younger. My oldest at the time was between 12-15 and the youngest whom I removed from public school first was 8-12. They were both homeschooled for approximately 3 years and that was when I reached my breaking point and sent them back to public school.
My oldest has since graduated while my 16 year old is in her second year of high school.
I would love to teach her at home again for she really struggles with her teachers and feels she is not getting the help she needs. Her grades are very good and she is in what is called a 15-1-1 class setting. Fifteen students one teacher one aid.
Have you considered teaching your child at home part time with the subjects that are your strong point, and finding a tutor for the other subjects that might cause frustration.
Their is a great school in Ann Arbor Michican that will help with keeping you abreast of the crucial information you need for you child to qualify for each grade and offer suggestions on the right approach for your child. Just a suggestion, I don't know if you are a U.S. resident or U.K. so I obviously can't recommend anything outside of the U.S.
