Our family is experiencing the same run around. My 9 year old amazing son, Ryan, is dyslexic. I am researching a program other dyslexics have had success with. Davis Dyslexia Correction. Suggested reading, "The Gift of Dyslexia" by Ron Davis. I have actually been able to contact families by phone that went through the program. Their stories are all to familiar and inspirational. My dyslexic child sees in pictures (3-D). The program is suppose to help him harness his 3-D disorientations so that he can focus in a 2 dimnesional capacity when reading/writing/spelling.
My son has had so many interventions but is still struggling (reversals, phonological processing & sequencing). Now that he is in the 4th grade and should be reading to learn instead of still stuck at learning to read he is experiencing physical symptoms. Headaches and dizziness occur by the end of the school day. He is so emotional drained when he gets home. Yet he has perfect attendance and tries so very hard. Behavioral battles ensue. I found a facilitator of the Davis Dyslexia program 1 hour away. She is willing to travel to our home. It requires 5 days of intense instruction. Were going to try the program in June. If you would like to keep in touch you can email me with a caption - Advocating Mothers.
