I just found the website and read your post. My son is dyslexic/visual-spatial learner. Some at his school do not want to believe this. One lady - the school counselor believed in me and my son. The school psychologist didn't think I knew what I was talking about and said only a brain scan would identify it and later she had to eat her own words after doing the Welcher IQ testing. Unfortunately, My son's teachers do not believe in it and want to say its ADHD. Just this weekend i sent 2 emails to people at the IEP meeting I just had and even the lady in SPED services that will be working with him seems close minded and doesn't want to learn more...just wants to work with him and see on her own....she's taking this ADHD to heart and I keep telling them that is not it!!! I've pretty much done the diagnosis, research and had to push the school for a complete evaluation. Now that some truely = one really believes me there may be progress. Good luck to you but I say like the rest - keep pushing for your child and push people back that talk like that in front of your child. I had to the beginning of the school year and point blankly informed a teacher not to be so rude in front of my child and how would you like it to be talked about like that....Good Luck and good luck to your child.
