Lovely advice.
BUT some children are not just reluctant readers, they find reading extremely hard. For then reading one page is lek me reading a long Legal document, or a Scientific paper on Quantum Chemistry (try it if you really want to understand).
Personally I am pleased when my son reads a comic, or his little sister's beginning reading books, and just hope one day he will be able to read harder books for pleasure.
