My son just underwent a battery of evals (He is 9 1/2). He too was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADD. However, the Dr. who administered the tests said that there are a lot of children with dyslexia who are believed to also have ADD. The problem is, it is hard to know if most of their inattentiveness comes from the inability to complete tasks asked of them at school or if it is a real inablility to focus. When they are not albe to read easily, write easily, copy easily....when pratically everything is a challenge, they tend not to focus and become fidgity, day dream, or are non responsive. She suggested to us that we deal with the dyslexia first. Getting him remediation and to see if his behaviors change. There are many reasons not to jump to medications, one being they may not really need it. I hope this helps. Jill
