I would start with Blackwell if I were you. I think it's a fairly safe assumption that whoever did this was targetting Julia, not Elena. If they were trying to hurt Elena, that would have just killed her and not bothered with the whole finger thing.
Now I know for a fact that Jack Grady has been asking around about Julia lately. I don't know how much he found out, but his interest certainly makes him suspiscious. I don't know who he might have suggested the Elena thing to, but Blackwell is the only one I know of who is planning a coup d'etate. Unfortunately, I don't have anyway of finding out more information.
I've contacted someone who works for Blackwell and that person is trying to dig up some things for me, but I don't have high hopes. Any ideas?
